The Pet Shop Boys and The Dream of the decade
Nostalgia for the 1980s in the United Kingdom continues as more TV programs and books that either go back to turbulent time or trace their attenuation. Two cultural versions look set to endure, in particular: a novel and what at first appears a pop record.

Incisive political commentary – and humor – is what we find in the work of Afshin Rattansi and the Pet Shop Boys. The band's songs, Opportunities (We will make a lot of money), Shops, Rental and King's Cross have issues that dominate the lives of the characters of sleep.
Of course, when it comes to helping to change, the Pet Shop Boys more work as assistants comfort for people who participate in it – while the loves and losses of characters are infectious Rattansi undiluted by poppy synth sounds.
