Chew Squeaker
My 8 month old Shih Tzu Beagle mix chews everything! How I can get them to stop!?!?
He is chewed by a strap and a half, two we used to fasten cables to it, plastic bags that come in some way, two squeaker toy, a pillow, two towels, and a wind-up toy I gave him a day! I gave him rawhide bones that are the right size but refuses to touch them? What's happening? Are there toys that I can give him that will keep busy and safe? Is it just a puppy phase pass? Please give me some suggestions!
Yes it is a stage – the stage of teething. Get some bitter apple spray and chewing will carry spray everything. Make sure that the toys they have for him. When picked up chewing scream, just to give a resounding no and replace the bad with one of their approved chew toys. Try a kong filled with peanut butter then freeze. Diesel also likes carrots frozen ice cubes. Chewing can also be a "symptom" of a lack of exercise or attention. When he is doing something right, praise him! Make sure he gets an hour or so each day of exercise. Not just put it out. Take a walk and play with it!
