Dog grooming clippers?

I've been preparing my mini Schnauzer me at least 6 months (every hairdresser we took him to hasn't it that's how I wanted so I gave up). I have a set of dog clippers Wahl, but have become blunt and started jamming and making that horrible noise. What would be the professional clippers hairdressers suggest? Also, if the blades are interchangeable, so the blades are used in body and head (so the hair is not too short cos its winter)? Thanks everyone!

Hello! Did you know you can get the blades sharp? It costs about $ 5 for the sharp. You just mail in the leaves of Wahl. http://consumer.wahl.com/service.cfm As for that site and tell you where send your blades. If you do not want to get the blades sharpened you can buy a new sheet. There are different sizes of blades for a variety of products. For the preparation dog if you have the little plastic sheet covering the pop – probably want to stick with a blade # 10. However, if you manage without them then I suggest a # 5 or 7 blade to leave the hair a bit longer (the higher the # the shorter the hair is – I work at a vet and use # 40 and a hair clip for surgery). Both are great brands. Sites that I sent earlier (Wahl and Jeffers) both sell clippers. I have Wahl Pro series and love it. My favorite thing about it is that it can be wireless. I can show the horses and use them, plus my own dog grooming. Suggestions All I would say are: remember to use washing and lubricating the blade cool and if you decide to buy a brand new razor to buy one that indicates that can be cut thick body hair and not just cut (you probably already know these things though). A good razor definitely pay for itself in a hurry. My Best wishes!
