How does a dog stop digging through the walls when left home alone?

My black labrador 2 years old, must be left in cage while I'm at work and claws at the walls finally leaving a big hole. I really hate to put him in his cage and would like to leave him in the kitchen and dining but that has caused so much damage in the past. He also likes to chew baseboards. Any idea to solve this problem would be appreciated.

Bored dogs are destructive dogs. You need to exercise the mind and body boys drawer before him. I suggest a good 45 minute walk before exiting. The demand short walk and you can even stop occasionally to stop training. If you exercise your mind, get much more "tired." How long is leaving your dog in a cage? I suggest placing the cage in the center of the room (away from the walls) with a lot of things that keep him busy. A Kong is wonderful with candy put in (or peanut butter), Nyla Bones and natural bone also kept busy avid chewers.
