I cut the copper ground plate to connect an electric stove to a dedicated line cable 3. ?

You are only supposed to cut through a cable connection 4. The power range of the fine. Do I need a copper ground plate? More importantly I can just cut a piece of copper or other conductive material and create a similar piece? It is only 1 * 3 "with 2 holes. Can I can use a cable?
