Fence Collar
"I can have my dog on an electric fence while hunting training with a shock collar, at the same time?
My boyfriend and I are going a German short hair in a few weeks. He wants his followers to hunt and use a shock collar to train. At the same time, we would like an electric fence for our house instead of a regular boarded fence. Their concern is that if we do so, the shock electric fence will confuse the dog with a training / shock implying. Does anyone have recommendations or has been in this situation with a resolution? Please do not leave any information that tells me that shock collars and fences are wrong.
A shock collar if used properly, can be a good training tool, but make sure the frequency is fixed at lower and not train the dog to a nearby hot. GSD, DP, ACD, AK POINTER said German short hair and yes, you idiot, those are hunting dogs. And FYI-A German shorthaired pointer is a VERY common breed of hunting dog.
