E30 Paint Job Orange / Black, good idea or bad idea?
Works great, just looks like shit right now because the painting is flaky and the sun burns, clear coat is gone so well in the original painting. I kind of want it to look sporty. I have an E30 325i and, and the original paint is flaking off. I have this car for $ 1K, I will not put much money into what I would do a Russian paint job, its my daily driver. Probably $ 125 maximum for the paint and do the work of my car. The home car is black, black bumpers and all. I was thinking of painting the walls bright orange and do the hood, roof and trunk painted gloss black Navy ships. Do you think an E30 you would be well in this combo? Or should I just paint it a color. Would you leave the plastic bumper paint it black or orange? Any idea?
An equivalent quality paint job at a factory paint job (color not included) will not cost less than $ 2,000. $ 125 for paint materials is not realistic at all. boat marine paint will not work in a car. There is a reason why you have house painting, automotive painting, aircraft painting, marine paint, face painting, and fingers. Some applications require the use of certain materials. Dupont quality paint, PPG, House of Kolor etc cost is $ 700. That's not taking into account any equipment you need. That's just painting materials … we have not even gotten to the sandpaper, paper tape, tape or something similar. Note that you do not know how to paint your car. So even if you did spend the money on the right materials, you destroy your car because you have no idea what you are doing. This is a terrible idea. Either spend the money to do it well or not at all.
