Ladies: Do you remember making your own clothes and dress in particular was the most difficult to do?

I used to do all my clothes in the years 60 and 70 could not afford the clothes I needed to work. I made a vest and a time when skirts were very difficult to make. What were the clothes you made?

I would buy long pants and shirt of a thrift store, cut legs, cut the sleeves on the shoulders and neck cut. Cool as! People ask me "who does your clothes" At 70 I wore a safari suit to work, a suit almost every day, color blue.
