Can anyone suggest a rodent would be a good pet, not very high maitenance?

I want to buy a rodent (something small: mouse, hamster etc) matenance I do not want anything too high, just something small and cozy. I had gerbils before and that was fun, but I want something different, maybe a mouse. Any suggestions?
