Why not have smaller pet store toys my magnet in it?

I still buy the little toy store pet for my daughter and I know they are supposed to have a small magnet in it and in the last 10 or so I've bought does not have the magnet on him, only the small hole where the magnet is supposed to be. has happened to any of their toys or is there a memory or a danger i do not know? your help would be really great! Thanks!
