What dogs should not eat
Dogs, especially puppies, are so innocent to their surroundings that they will experience anything once, even harmful. Even this morning as I was spraying an organic insecticide, from the flowers, my miniature schnauzer took a lame to see what it was. Like snakes, Dogs use their tongues to test the environment. This spray is not so bad because it is all natural. Still, even natural repellents are very hard on the kidneys.
Dogs try anything, even more than cats, who seem to be most careful they could have pets. So when you are putting dog food, it is likely that even if there is anything wrong with that, very little is known, is going to eat the entire dish and see if they look at you is coming. And by the way, make sure that you are not overfeeding your puppy. Do not feed them your food scraps and unfinished. That's a lot of food for an animal that does not leave much. No place to burn food, your puppy is put on the pounds.
So if the dogs can not tell how the food tastes, or read the label to see if there is something in his food could be hard for the kidneys or digestive tract, but depends on you, your caregiver, check carefully what is in that big bag that is in the pantry. With the recent horror of the Chinese put anything into the mix, it's time for you to do a little research to ensure that tags are not killing slowly your dog with ingredients that are still on the shelves of America.
First, a little lesson in economics. food manufacturers for dogs are in the business on the one hand, the main reason – and not to make dog food! It is for profit. Dog food is only the vehicle to get profitable. So, know that if they can save money in manufacturing and beat the competition, they will. They do things because they want to hurt her pet. They do this because if they do – the operation of its business model – they will lose money and sell less dog food.
He has been in the food hall dogs lately? Some stores have two or three ships. There is a huge competition in price and ingredients. You'll find your normal dog food, the names you grown, and then find newer, organic or special food for the dog's diet. So we know that there is much concern thinks its dog – just marketing what may catch your imagination. But be aware of what to look out for on those labels.
Since Fido will probably eat the same food day after day, it is important to look beyond the attractive labels and clever marketing. Current regulation allows manufacturers to pet food to use ingredients that would not feed your pet you knew. Look for the word "products" on the label. This may mean feet, bones and intestines.
Because dog food manufacturers have to ensure that the product does not spoil, typically 12 months, include preservatives. The fats used in food dog would go rancid, so they use synthetic preservatives called butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA) and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), propyl gallate, propylene glycol, which is also used as a less toxic version of automotive antifreeze, and ethoxyquin. Look for these on the label. There is not much information documenting their toxicity, safety, interactions, or use in pet food can be eaten every day in the life of your dog. Propylene glycol was banned in cat food, because it causes anemia in cats, however, is still allowed in dog food.
These potential cancer-causing agents such as BHA, BHT, and ethoxyquin is allowed at very low levels. The use of these chemicals in dog foods has not been studied thoroughly, and long-term accumulation of these agents may be harmful. Due to questionable data in the original study on its safety, ethoxyquin's manufacturer, Monsanto, was required to perform a new, more rigorous study in 1996. Monsanto found no significant toxicity associated with its own product, but in July 1997 the FDA Center for Veterinary Medicine requested that manufacturers voluntarily reduce the maximum level of ethoxyquin by half, to 75 parts per million.
The ball is in the air on ethoxyquin. Some critics believe that food pets ethoxyquin is a major cause of disease, skin problems, and infertility in dogs, others claim it is the safest, strongest, most stable have for pet food preservative. And Ethoxyquin is approved for human food, spices such as cayenne and preserve chili powder, to a level of 100 ppm – but it would be very difficult, even for fans of more hard-core specialists to consume like chili powder every day as much as dog eats dry food. Ethoxyquin has not been tested with cats. However, it is commonly used in veterinary diets for cats and dogs.
What is the answer? What I suggest is that Suppliers who make contact with the dog food in small batches and ship them to your door. These companies are few and far between but they exist and have ingredients higher quality with any of the dangerous preservatives. Discuss this in detail in my website.
