Will my new puppy cats ruin my life?
I'm about to bring home one week old labrador puppy girl of 7 and have already established a male cat adult. Skiddish My cat is not at all, but only indoors and has never known a puppy, dog, cat or other as far as I know. I am a little worried. Any idea, anyone with this same experience?
My cousin and her boyfriend just brought home a puppy from the Humane Society … his cat had been exposed other dogs and cats, but it was not a fan. It had been used to being the only pet. Now he spends all his time under his bed. Occasionally his eyes that will to lower his head, but as soon as the dog is hyperactive it is back in bed again. I'm not saying you should not bring home the puppy, but you probably have hands full. That said, every animal is different. My cat, who has been the only pet around half of his life, loves it when my friends bring their dogs to play with him. Whatever you do, however, make sure you still try to spend as much time with your cat as it does now, after taking the puppy home. Cats are very emotional and grudges are expected. Be sure to let you know (through their actions) that have not been replaced. Hope this helped some. Good luck your new puppy! If you do the best for both to be housed and they feel loved, is a good chance they will end up being friends.
