Whippet – fastest dog of the same size
A Whippet is a medium sized dog that belongs to the dog eye dogs. They short hair and look like greyhounds. What is the fastest of all domesticated creatures of the same weight often traveling as fast as 35 miles per hour.
Whippet Breed History
The race Whippet was originally bred to use their hearing to hunt and play high-speed chase. During the 19th century The Whippet first appeared in the northern section of England. These dogs came from two different types of dogs to mix with small terriers to produce dog fast enough to go after small game like rabbits.
The Whippets were the property of ordinary workers. These Whippets became racehorse of the poor, in fact, because they race. They run them through the streets or through the fields about 200 yards.
The AKC recognized the breed in 1888 and is in the Hound Group. The English Kennel Club recognized the breed not until 1891. Today, the Whippet is extremely popular shows dog and has won many championships in several sections.
The temperament of the breed
Whippets are gentle dogs are very loving, and enjoy getting and giving affection. The breed is quiet and sweet and very rarely barks. They bark when necessary, but do not make good guard dogs though. It can sometimes get so surly that is not recommended for children. They are friendly enough but to be used around the elderly in nursing homes.
If are not raised around cats who persecute them. Whippets Both men and women are equally easy to educate. They are very loyal to their owners and love being with them. They will stay around when they can. Whippets are quiet enough for apartments, even.

This breed is a very healthy when compared with other races. With care and proper nutrition for dogs can live as long as 15 years with very little health issues. The second cause of death are diseases of the heart with the Whippets. Sometimes a genetic eye problem may appear in this race, but this does not happen that often. Undescended testes are Whippets can be a common problem to have.
Requirements for the preparation of the Race
The Whippets are pretty low maintenance its coat of short hair, smooth. They shed twice a year, fall and spring. Brushing once or twice a week will relieve excretion. This will be good for dog, however throughout the year. To add a little more shine to the coat using a chamois cloth and wipe the dog down. Whippets bathe only when necessary, of course, followed by brushing and maybe some conditioning.
Your nails need clipping to prevent overgrowth. Ears must be checked to see if they need cleaning on the outside. Brush your teeth regularly. Also examine your skin to ensure that there are problems of the skin.
